Cream Cheese Buttercream

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese
  • 1 pound confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream (as needed to thin out icing)

In mixer bowl, cream butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add sugar one cup at a time and milk (if needed). Mix well. Beat on medium speed until smooth (only 30 seconds to 1 minute).

Yield: 2 1/2 cups icing

NOTE: Do not use light cream cheese or butter substitute. If margarine is used, icing will be softer.
